What is Shizenjin Mura?
When translated literally from Japanese to English, "Shizenjin Mura" becomes "Natural (shizen) Person (jin) Village (mura)."
Inspired by the Japanese concept of "arinomama," or "things as they are,"
Shizenjin Mura is a wilderness resort where guests are invited to come as they are and reconnect with nature and themselves.
Situated in the Akigawa Valley surrounded by mountains,
Shizenjin Mura guests can look forward to rich forest air, clear mountain streams, and farm to table local produce.
Custom built from the wood of trees local to the Tama region of Tokyo,

Shizenjin Mura was founded and named by the current owner's father's generation. Inspired by the Japanese concept of "arinomama," or "things as they are," he wanted to create a space for people to experience the healing powers of nature and "return to their true selves."
We strive to provide a place for people to come, unwind, and renew - leaving the property refreshed and ready to welcome a new day.

Our Tiny Houses are each designed with a distinctive shape - ensuring that each room has its own unique atmosphere.
Built entirely from locally sourced lumber and based on the concept of "Local production for local consumption in partnership with local craftsmen," we have crafted minimalist spaces that exude a sense of simplicity and richness.
Camp
Starting from 3,000JPY per site
A quiet campsite surrounded by valley and forest. Enjoy a restful stay in the middle of nature so abundant you'll forget you're still in Tokyo.
Each site is approximately 7m to 8m in size, giving you the feeling of being fully immersed in the forest. Please create and enjoy your own origial site using your own gear.
Cabin
Starting from 10,000JPY per whole unit
Nostalgic cabins located along the valleyside flowing into the Akigawa Valley - we offer everything from higher-grade cabins to extremely reasonably priced mountain huts so you can fully enjoy the surrounding nature.
You can hear the sound of the river from every cabin and enjoy pairing the tranquility with an outdoor BBQ meal.
Shared Facilities
Our comunal bathroom facilities are separated by gender, and toilets are fully equipped with heated-seat washlets.
There are also shower rooms with amenities available (free to use depending on accomodation plan), and the communal sink area has hot water and can be used comfortably in all seasons.
Our proudest facility, a reservation-only Private Outdoor Sauna, allows you to experience the rejuvenating power of nature, and is designed for all season use.

BBQ
Enjoy a lively barbeque with friends surrounded by the richness of nature -
just a stone's throw away from a waterfall basin where legend says a kappa (playful Japanese water spirit) used to live.
Get a taste for the area by making a reservation for a BBQ plan with locally sourced ingredients,
or bring your own food to grill and create a completely original menu. Distance between BBQ seats is enough that guests won't feel crowded by other groups and can enjoy themselves at a leisurely pace.

Sauna
Boasting a barrel sauna made completely from locally sourced lumber from the Tama region, our Private Outdoor Sauna makes the most of Shizenjin Mura's overflowing natural beauty. After an intense sauna session, guests are invited to take a refreshing dip in the clear stream flowing right below the sauna area to truly experience peak relaxation. The sauna area also boasts a shower booth, wooden cold bath, and original relaxation bench from which you can enjoy the sounds of the river, the chirping of birds, and the calling of insects. There is no doubt that after a session in our sauna, both your body and mind will be fully rejuvenated.
